An Amazing Six Months!

I can't believe it's been six months since Nyah was born and started blessing our lives. We love her so much. Ryan said the other day that her first words might be "I love you" because she hears them so much! She gets a lot of kisses and gives us lots of smiles. We love having her in our home!

So we've had a busy month with the Pocatello Marathon and the Top of Utah Marathon in Logan. I want to tell everyone how much I appreciate your support. Ryan isn't in the pictures but did a great job decorating my car as you can see. It makes running so much more fun to have all of your support! It's great to have Jana for a running partner and I really miss having her around for training. She pushes me to do better (and not just in running) :) Aaron's grateful that we didn't run with him in the Pocatello marathon...

Everything else is about the same. Ryan is really enjoying his job and is having a lot of opportunities to learn new things. My job is really busy right now but that's how I like it.

Every day I remind Nyah to tell her cousin to come so they can play. We're getting very excited for "baby Hill" to be born! It sounds like it could be any time now. I told Dad tonight that it's Mom's job to keep all of us updated on the progress. Lisa and Jordan will have other things to be focusing on. :)

New Experiences

There is an annual hot air balloon festival by our house so before church this morning we went to check it out. I had seen them on Saturday morning while I was running but when we went after my run, they had all gone down.

A couple of days ago we took this video of Nyah in the jumper. She is getting the hang of it and continues to improve each day. She was jumping today while I was trying to edit this video and I thought I should just create a new video because her jumping skills are already improving. Nyah has also found her "voice". She loves all of the fun sounds she can make. This evening, she was in the jumper downstairs and Ryan was watching TV. Every time Ryan turned the TV up to hear over her, she got louder. It was pretty funny.

Tonight at dinner she was very interested in our corn on the cob so Valerie put an ear over by her and Nyah grabbed it on each end and started going to town. She just chewed on the part that had already been eaten but it was fun to watch.

Good times!

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE having Fridays off to spend with Nyah? I took some pictures of her sleeping this morning looking as cute as ever. She is definitely a big fan of her thumb these days. Then later I took some pictures of her with some sunglasses on that were pretty cute so I thought I would share both. I can't believe she is 5 months old already. It's amazing how fast time is flying by.

This time next week we will be in Idaho and hopefully getting some good sleep in preparation for our big day on Saturday. :) Tomorrow is my only big run without Jana so hopefully my MP3 player will keep me distracted. I already told Jana about it but I took Toby on my run this morning and that was interesting. Let's just say I had a record time for 4 miles and it was an upper body work out at the same time. :) I bought some new shoes today and Jana assured me that they will help me "run faster" (sound familiar Dad?)

Nyah is spending a ton of time in the jumper lately. Ryan set it up in the family room next to the kitchen so it's a lot more convenient. I will edit the video of her jumping tonight and post that to the blog in the next couple of days.

I hope everything is going well for all of you. Take care and we'll talk to you soon.

Nyah's 4-month doctor appointment and "motorboat"

Nyah had her 4-month appointment yesterday and is now 14 1/2 pounds and 23 3/4 inches long. She also got four shots at her appointment so it has been a rough couple of days. She seems to be over it now. We just made a video of her doing the "motorboat". We decided to call it that instead of just "spitting". Anyway, we thought we would save a few pictures also. The one with Nyah being happy on her tummy is one Jana took. We are yet to get her rolling over on video. Maybe part of that is due to the fact that she is happier on her tummy these days and doesn't feel as much of a need to roll over. We also have the pictures of her with her Tazmanian devil and Bugs Bunny bandaids we thought we would include. Jana and I also had our 16 mile run yesterday and it went surprisingly well for both of us. We only have one more long run before the marathon!

Bowling

So I need to be doing more updates apparently. Aaron told me he checked to see if there was anything new and said I'm not doing very well with updates. Shari left some comments so she is checking also. :) Ryan, Jana, Nyah and I went bowling tonight. The place we went was like "Fat City" that we went to when all of the Pincocks were here. Anyway, you can imagine our surprise when we ended up there without a binky (we do that way too often). Then the second surprise was when it was "cosmic bowling" with the glow in the dark flashing lights and music. Nyah was a trooper though. We played three games and she managed to sleep through the last one (Ryan and Jana took turns playing my game). I think the practice frames helped both of their games because they had their top scores on the last game. Anyway, it was good times and we're grateful she "adapts" so well to the crazy situations we put her in.

I'm going to start recording her every time I put her on her stomach and one of these times we are bound to get a video of her rolling over. She is becoming a pro at it these days. We hope all is going well for all of you. Jana and I have 16 miles to run in the morning so that should be fun. Thinking about it makes me tired. I think I better go to bed....
