One more week until Nyah's Birthday!

I can't believe she is almost one year old! Time is flying. Well this last week was pretty typical. The only thing we did that was a little different this weekend was we installed locks on the cupboards in the kitchen and ruined all of Nyah's fun. Aaron recommended the type of lock and we are big fans so far. Installation wasn't the easiest but I think it will be worth it.

Nyah is really starting to think about this walking thing. Last night she was holding onto the coffee table and then she would take a quick couple of steps over to me. It was fun to see. Then in church today (yes while we were out in the hall again) she stood for about eight seconds on her own again. She's definitely getting the hang of it.

Her top, front, right tooth finally broke through so she's up to eight teeth. She's getting so big.

Well, I hope everything is going well for all of you. We're really looking forward to seeing Aaron, Jana, Lisa, Jordan, and Hallie in less than two weeks. We have to squeeze in as much time with Jana as we can before she takes off on her mission. We are so excited for her and know that she will be an excellent missionary.

Adios!

Standing Successes

Here are a couple of pictures of Nyah's hair after day care put it in a little pony tail on top of her head the other day. Ryan took it out while I was at Enrichment night and took these pictures. It was funny.
Her new fun thing is to try and stand on her own. Sometimes we coax her and get her to try it but it's great when she does it on her own. I think the record is still about 8 seconds.

She is getting a little sick so we hope that doesn't stick around. She continues to make us laugh and smile all the time. I never knew having a baby could be so much fun. :)
One more fun thing is she's starting to get the whole thing with sign language. You can ask her if she wants "more" or "milk" and she will do the sign. I need to watch the video again and learn more signs.

We are so excited for Jana to open her mission call tomorrow! Once she makes a decision that she's going to do something - there's no messing around. :) I hear the rules are we can guess a state in the United States and then also a country. I already decided on Florida and then I'm going to go with Chile.

Adios!

Kisses

Nyah is really enjoying tub time these days although she is a lot more "mobile" while I'm trying to give her a bath. That's okay though - it makes it more of an adventure. I loved this picture and thought I would share.

She is also blowing us kisses. Everyone once in a while we can get her to pucker her lips while she does it but usually it is just open mouth kisses - regardless of whether or not she is "blowing" them.

All is going well. We ran Nyah all over doing errands over the weekend and she's a good sport. On Friday when we were running errands, when we would get to each destination, she would have her right shoe off. Finally I decided to stop putting them back on and just left her in her socks. So the next store we got to, we found out she had taken off her left sock. Fancy. Then yesterday she resorted to taking all of her shoes and socks off each time. Apparently she would rather not have shoes and socks on... Today I figured out the answer to the sock issue - tights. After church when we went to get her out of her car seat she was trying to pull of her tights but it just wasn't working very well!

Have a great week. We took a video of her standing on her own for a few seconds at a time. Her record is about 8 seconds. I'll get that posted in the next few days. Adios!

It's already March

I can't believe it's March and Nyah is nearly one year old. This time last year I was very pregnant and excited for her to come into this world! This last year has just flown.

I don't have any new pictures to post but thought I would give an update on some of the new things she's doing. She will stand holding onto something and then lift her hands up in the air like, "Look no hands" for a few seconds until she tips. She's getting quite fancy.

Another fun one is asking her, "Where's the baby?" and she'll go and find the baby doll of mine we brought back from Idaho. It's cute.

She is also giving us kisses (kind of slobbery but we love them). What else? She is still very active and curious. She has figured out how to open cupboards and drawers so we need to go buy some sort of safety lock.

This last week of work was hectic while they were getting ready to sign the agreement on Friday to take over the management of the other credit union. Hopefully this next week won't be so crazy.

Everything is going well here and we hope you all have a great week. (Speaking of which I can't believe Jana might get her mission call this week!) That will be fun.

It's been a long time!

Wow it's been a really long time since we've posted to our blog. With the trip to Idaho and Utah we had a busy week in there but I don't know what happened to the other three!

It was great to see all of the family, but Nyah and I really missed Ryan. It was so cute to see the two of them reunite at the airport. I want to thank everybody for the generosity with your time and your homes and everything. We had a great time. You can see in the picture Nyah and Grandma even had a chance to take a nap. That was one of the rare moments when Nyah wasn't going like crazy.
We had Valentine's Day shortly after we returned. I heard that Aaron thinks Nyah is a bit young to be getting Valentine's Day gifts but I'm always just looking for an excuse to buy her something so that was the perfect reason! In Idaho she figured out she can push things and walk behind them so we bought her a toy that she can push and walk behind. She loves it and I just wish we had a really long family room like we did at our last house so we didn't spend so much time turning her around! You will see what I mean in the video. She's doing really well walking behind it and it's funny to see how the obvious "like you can't push through a wall", isn't quite so obvious at her age. :) It's so cute to watch.

She's getting a couple more teeth and they are really bugging her. It's funny how that seems to go in stages.

Work is going really well for both Ryan and me. We are going through a huge restructuring of our organization at my company so it will be interesting to see how everything works out.

An explanation on the picture of her sleeping. I went in to check on her one morning and there she was laying sideways in her bed and I thought, "wow, she sleeps crazy like her Aunt Lisa". She looked so cute all curled up that I had to take a picture. When Nyah is in bed with us she also kicks whoever is on the side by her feet and I have flashbacks to sharing a bed with Lisa at a hotel room and being kicked all night! :) Good times.
Have a great day!
