A New Hat and Dancing

So I finally got her on video dancing last night. Her hair is wild though because by then she had taken out the little ponytail that was in. Her dancing cracks me up though and hopefully you will enjoy it as well. You will see that she had her toys all over the family room but she actually helped us put them all away before she went to bed last night. Good girl. :)

We were having popcorn while watching a movie last night and she also had an idea of what to do with the greasy popcorn bowl - that's right, a hat. Pictures continue to be a challenge since she doesn't want to hold still for that long but we got a couple.

We did go on a small hike/walk on Saturday. She of course found water and that was quite the adventure. Let's just say she was nice and cool from head to toe by the time we left to go home.

You may wonder why I'm posting during the middle of the day but that's because I have the day off. :) I'm going to need to work on Friday so I switched. I love days off.

This morning while I was getting ready, I looked over and she had managed to sit inside a shoe box (she even had her little legs tucked in there). It was adorable but she had bailed by the time I ran to get the camera. I really need to just start hauling the camera around so I don't miss all these cute little pictures.

Hello everybody!

I hope all is well with all of you. We are going to enjoy a little break in the weather today. It has been around 100 degrees most of this last week so we are excited that it's only going to be about 80 degrees today. I think we're going to go for a little hike.

Nyah is being as cute as ever. I looked over the other day to see her pick up her plate and start licking it. I asked Ryan if he taught her that during their breakfast time in the mornings but he assured me he didn't. It's cute though. I've got a video of her licking her plate and then saying "hello" at the end of this post. Adorable.

She is also doing some fancy dancing these days. I'll get her on video sometime this weekend and then add that to the blog as well.

We are just super blessed because she's such a good little girl and brings so much joy into our lives!

It's almost been a month!

I can't believe nearly a month has passed by since I've last posted. So much has happened. We had the Ragnar relay which was a new adventure. There were lots of good times (but not a lot of sleep) and I think most of us would like to do it again sometime. When Ryan was running his last leg he didn't know if he wanted to ever do it again but I think he is already changing his mind. :) It was interesting for me to see some of the differences between this type of relay and previous events. I'm hoping everybody is going to send me pictures and then I'll post a slideshow of the Ragnar relay experience. We also got a chance to spend a little bit of time with Dale and Kathy before we came back to Colorado which was nice and relaxing after the crazy Ragnar days. :)

Then we had our anniversary the next weekend. Ryan surprised me a couple of days early and sent me some gorgeous roses to work. Then we had a date night. We went to see Iron Man. I have to admit I wasn't very excited when he told me it was based on a comic strip but I really ended up enjoying it. It was a good mix of adventure, drama, and comedy.

We had a fun Fourth of July weekend although you'll just have to trust me on that one because I don't have any pictures to show for it. We walked down to the park by our house three times for different activities and also played in Nyah's pool in the backyard. Nyah went through three different changes of clothes (besides her swimming suite) because they kept getting wet on our trips to the park (the park with the very tempting water fountains and pond area). We wondered how Nyah would do with the fireworks last night. She really enjoyed the first 10 minutes and then her attention span was done. Ryan and I joked that we had never looked forward to the grand finale before. :) She wasn't crying or anything, just ready to be off on a new adventure. She did keep saying "ooooh" which was adorable.

Then today we were productive and ran errands and then I helped Ryan finish cleaning the garage. He had a big job but it looks great! The last big piece of news is it appears as though Nyah is now going down for naps and going to bed at night on her own. I told my mom the other day that I might have a five year old that I need to lie down by in order for her to go to sleep but it looks like that might not be the case after all. It all started because I love to cuddle with her as she falls asleep! :)

I'm also going to do a slide show of some of my favorite pictures from the Pincock family pictures we had taken recently.

Summer is so fun!

I'm so glad that it's summer and time to be outside. Nyah has decided she would like to be outside all of the ten hours she is awake during the day if at all possible. It's fun to watch her explore outside.

The trip to Idaho went well even though it included dropping Jana off at the MTC. I already miss her and what I miss the most is being able to pick up my phone and give her a call. Waiting for weekly letters is a killer. I am very excited that she can email. When I first saw that I had an email from "Jana Pincock", I thought somebody was planning a mean joke. When I saw that it was really from her I cried. I'm weird. Anyway, it sounds like she's doing great though. It was fun to see all of you in Idaho and I'll put in a bunch of pictures from the trip in the slideshow.

Nyah started saying "hello" which is lots of fun. I'll have to add a video another time of her saying hello (you can just pause the music). It's cute.

Nyah was sick this last week. She acted normal enough (maybe a teeny bit lethargic) but had the "runs". Some of the other kids have been sick at daycare so I'm sure she picked something up. She's doing better though now and has been in daycare so far this week. Hopefully that will continue...

We bought her a little swimming pool so she went swimming on Saturday. I put her feet in and she stepped right back out because it was too cold. So then I asked Ryan to run a hose from the kitchen sink and he said, "Great, we are teaching her that pools are the temperature of bath water". I told him that I'll only do it while she's little! She had fun though and liked trying to drink out of the sprayer that goes out of the front of it.

Everything is going well and I'm excited to have a normal work week with Friday off again this week. I'm adicted to having that extra day off even though it means longer work days the other days. Ryan's job is going well and isn't as hectic now that "month end" is over. We have different busy times of the month so that's helpful with family life.

It has been gorgeous weather this week and I hope it continues through the weekend. I have been getting serious about running and will hopefully be ready in just over a week. Ryan has a doctor appointment tomorrow so they can look at his knee and see what's going on.

Well have a good rest of the week and I'll try to post another time before we come for the Ragnar Relay. We love you!
