Days Off

I love days off. I have some new pictures of Nyah with her Harley onesie from Dale and Kathy that are pretty cute. There is also a picture of Nyah and Toby checking each other out. Toby just lets Nyah do whatever she wants to him and just kind of looks at us like, "Is this necessary?"

Here is another video of Nyah in the jumper - spinning and then unwinding. It's funny that she continues to come up with new things to do in the jumper.

Ryan had the flu this last week and Nyah and I seem to have "escaped" and don't seem to have contracted his germs. I kept telling Ryan not to "breathe on her" but Lisa assures me that the flu germs aren't "air borne" and I just need to worry about the germs being spread through coughing, sneezing, etc. It must have worked. :)
Ryan was feeling better by Saturday so he had a "boys night out" with some guys in the ward because one of them does "pay per view" for some of the UFC fights. He assures me it was a good time.
We hope all is going well for all of you. Have a great day!

More crawling

Hello everybody! We hope all is going well for all of you. Things are going well around here.

We took Nyah swimming on Saturday and she really enjoyed it. She might end up being a little "fish" like her daddy.

Nyah is clapping her hands, crawling, (second video) playing peek a boo (the first video) and still pulling herself up to her knees. The speed of her crawling definitely depends on if she's trying to reach her destination before we catch her. :) The video is "grainy" because it wasn't very light in the room.

Ryan and I took advantage of "parents' night out" at her day care and went to dinner and a movie the other night. It's funny how less than a year ago it was normal to go places as just the two of us and now it seems weird. We miss her every second she's not around us.

Also, she is also feeling much better and her bronchitis seems to be gone.

Happy New Year!

We hope everybody is having a happy new year. I love the start of a new year and the opportunity to reflect and set some new year's resolutions on things I would like to focus on during 2008. Happy 2008!

I'm attaching a video of Nyah crawling. She is definitely getting around pretty well these days. Since we recorded this video, she is crawling "normally" instead of the cute little "army crawl" you will see in the video. We'll have to give you an update next week. She is also starting to pull herself up but lucky for us is only pulling herself up to her knees so far. It's amazing what curiosity prompts her to do as she explores everything around her.

She had a big day with her 9-month check-up (no shots although she had the hemoglobin test and was not a fan). At her doctor appointment he said she has bronchitis and we're hoping the drugs will start kicking in so she can get feeling better soon. She's been a little trooper though.

Then we also had pictures taken yesterday. You will see there is a bruise under her left eye. She was being curious at day care and hit her head against the shelf trying to get a toy. They called Ryan during the day to say what had happened and he waited to tell me until he had seen it and knew how bad it was. He said he didn't want me to worry (who me worry?). That was very nice of him but I told him he has to tell me next time. Isn't worrying part of the deal with parenting? :) I was relieved to see that is wasn't too bad though.

Well, that's the update for this week. I'm going to try to start updating this on Sundays so it's a little more regular. Have a great week!

One More Entry for 2007!

I thought we should make one more entry before 2007 is over. I can't believe how this last year has flown!

Christmas was really different for us this year. We missed all of you but also enjoyed our first Christmas with just the three of us. As you will see in the attached video (the videos are all at the bottom because they don't mess up the text format) and the picture of Nyah in front of the tree with Nyah, she was mostly interested in "tasting" her toys and presents. She was also very intersted in the bows on her gifts. She wasn't sure what to think of the ball popper toy from Santa - a little wild for her...

Ryan installed a hook in the basement for her jumper so she is loving that. We attached a video so you can see her progress. She just loves to jump.
We also wanted to show Aaron that we are teaching her to nod her head "yes". I remember he didn't want Tyler to learn "no" so we thought we share this video with him. So far so good...
I am yet to get a picture where you can see her two little teeth and it's funny because they are very obvious at this point. Her cute little tongue often covers them for the pictures though. Maybe I'll catch one this next week!

We hope all of you had a great Christmas and will have a Happy New Year. We are just going to hang out for New Year's Eve so it will be pretty low key around here.

Finally!

I can't believe we went from Halloween to nearly Christmas since we've posted a blog. That's pretty sad. :( The good part is lots of fun stuff has happened since. We had our trip to Idaho when we had the opportunity to see lots of family. We really enjoyed it.
Another thing is (drum roll....) we are officially moved down into the basement - yay! Ryan did a great job and we've been enjoying our time down there.

Nyah's first toothin (that's how Mom would say it) has come in! It's barely in but there is definitly tooth there. It's funny that we've been thinking that she is teething for about four months and it just came in. :) She doesn't want to let me feel it and definitely has it figured out how she can pinch her cute little lips together to keep my finger out!

We have our Christmas tree and decorations all up and we are getting close to being ready for the holidays. Nyah and I are hopefully going to finish up the Christmas shopping this afternoon for those things that need to be shipped off. She is currently taking a nap. Apparently she was a pretty sleepy girl since she has been asleep for a couple of hours.

Nyah is sitting with confidence these days and has definitely figured out how to roll to get where she wants to do. She is also up on her hands and knees and rocking. Sometimes she really gets some momentum going but no crawling yet.

We had our ward Christmas party last week so here is a picture of Nyah with Santa. She just couldn't get over the big white beard. It was so cute to see her checking Santa out. I'm also posting a picture of her in her Christmas dress. I'm thinking about doing holiday cards but these pictures will have to do for now!

We hope all of you are enjoying the holiday season!
